SWEET! My favorite movie of all time is the #1 High School Movie. HUZZAH! Now, I have severe issues with "Sixteen Candles" that far down the list.

are they seriously going to release HSM in movie theaters, or was that a joke?
You should take what Sueleen says (most of it, anyway) with a grain of salt.

I'm still trying to figure out how anyone took the first post seriously...
Rebel Without a Cause IS the number one high school film of all time
Period.
I received this E-mail from the editors of EW:
"Although we do not question the quality of the film "High School Musical" our list was composed of films that had a major theatrical release. We regret that we could not include made for television movies or we would have included the classics "Sarah T. - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic" and "A Friend to Die For." Thank you for your interest and keep reading. Maybe someday we will have a list of the 50 best High School films made for television!"
I loved A FRIEND TO DIE FOR!* Kellie Martin kicked ass... and stabbed torso. Tori Spelling's, to be exact.
*I believe it was retitled DEATH OF A CHEERLEADER
The only reason it's lasted this long is because it has the Disney name attached to it, which means it can be blindly merchandized to its target audience of 15 year old girls.
Disney movies are target the "tween" age group, which is 9-13 years old.
I'm still upset that the cooking guy didn't end up with the Sharpei's gay brother in the end. That would have made the movie much better.
