Posted: 8/31/04 at 12:50amTHe highest note is sung by Ty Taylor in SFANW has to hit at least high D's. He might go to high E's above middle C but I don't think so. He's obviously a male alto and he hits them like they're nothing.

Mandy has prostate cancer...I don't think that would directly affect his vocal chords. I'm not sure how Chemo works, however, or if he's even undergoing Chemo right now. If he is, I would say that his voice probably isn't in best shape -- but will recover once the side effects (swelling, etc.) settle down. And if he isn't, his vocal chords should be about the same.
And I'm not saying that ALL of his notes aren't in falsetto, that would be physically impossible...but a lot of the higher notes are his own voice...either that, or he's freakin' amazing at faking it, in my humble opinion.

those notes aren't that high are they? (me being a counter-tenor I can never really tell what would be easy for other tenors, sorry!)

Posted: 8/31/04 at 12:56amHe IS freakishly amazing at faking it. He is superb. One of the best ever.

LOL - the first time I read that, I thought you wrote "Cheno". But I guess they're similar; if you do either one for too long, you lose your hair.
(I apologize if anyone found that offensive, I can't help myself.

I think we are all becoming delusional.
I read 'Cheno' the first time too.

Posted: 8/31/04 at 1:09amAnthony Warlow had cancer and chemo and I think his voice sounds better now then before he had cancer.

not only that, Warlow had throat cancer didn't he? the man is amazing to bounce back like that and come out of it with his voice as strong as ever! though it is unfair to hold anyone else to his god-like standards.
as for high notes I can only say PITY THE CHILD

Well, it's the worst for me! I re-read my own entry and (I swear to God) thought "Oh, shoot..I accidentally typed 'Cheno' instead of 'Chemo'!" Haha, it's probably because I capitalized it for some reason (??? I'm not sure why.) Or we all are going crazy.
And isn't Mandy still acting on that Showtime show? If he's up to that, he should be up to a lot. Ehh, I don't know. Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da...life goes on. Hopefully he'll make a smooth recovery and get back to faking that little falsetto of his.

Posted: 8/31/04 at 1:18amAll praise Anthony Warlow!!! Yes, he did have some kind of cancer of the throat (the name escapes me now). I mean, before his cancer he was more of a baritone, but after the cancer he has become more a tenor and can hit POWERFUL high notes with the greatest of ease. I mean, Jesus says "Hallelujah" when Warlow hits those notes.

He's on DEAD LIKE ME.
And he has something coming up? A tour maybe?
I remember Margo mention something, I think.

Yes, he did have some kind of cancer of the throat (the name escapes me now).
He had lymphoma. If I remember correctly, it was a year or so before he began singing again.

Posted: 8/31/04 at 1:32amBINGO. Thank you amasis. He was supposed to be in the Australian cast of JCS (great recording by the way) but couldn't because that is when he first found out about his cancer. He was going to be pontious pilot. DANG IT, he would have been great. He needs to get his but to America so I can watch him live and bask in his godliness.

Posted: 8/31/04 at 1:34amI'd lose my hair too if I had to do Cheno. I mean Chemo. I mean - wait!

I think I read an article where he mentioned having doubts about the book for J&H, but I've always really regretted the fact that he chose not to participate in the the J&H production. That would have been our chance getting him on Broadway. I'm not too crazy of that musical, myself, but for some performers, I'd sit through any bad musical (multiple times, too) just to watch them perform.

Yeah. He said, it works as a concept album but the book was really weak and couldn't really make it as a staged musical. He has also said that he will never leave Australia to live somewhere else. He is only going to do shows there. One day I will fly to Australia to hear him (he better be singing at 80 years old).

5 1/2 years together should mean that he was able to do Cheno for a pretty long time, if you ask me
