What are some high notes in songs song by guys?
In 'Freaks' from Taboo, Raul Esparza hits a freakishly high note. It is fascinating.

In A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, Henrik has some good ones in "Later".
In CHESS, Freddie (AKA "The American") has a few killers in "Pity the Child".

Posted: 8/30/04 at 11:27pmThat is high Priest, considering most Broadway men are Baritones. I'm not all for these high E's above middle C and stuff. B flat/natural is usually the call for most men, and that's some stretch for me being a bari/tenor.

Posted: 8/30/04 at 11:30pmTrue. There is a fine fine line between really high and freakishly high. And I guess that one is right on the dge.

Posted: 8/30/04 at 11:30pmYou mean middle E above middle C?

Posted: 8/30/04 at 11:32pmNO! High E an octave above middle C. Middle E's should be cake for a bari/tenor. Even some basses.

Posted: 8/30/04 at 11:49pmin the 1996 London cast of JCS (best recording by the way) Steve Balsamo (Jesus) hits an ungodly high note in "Gethsemane" and he holds that note for a minute or so. The first time I heard that I almost fell out of my seat out of amazement.

Posted: 8/31/04 at 12:01amMy friend just gave me Sunday in the Park With George not too long ago...and some of the notes Mandy Patinkin hits on that recording without going into falsetto are ASTOUNDING. He's fabulous.

Mandy Patinkin didn't sing in Falsetto. The last sign of the Apocolypse has just been fulfilled.
