On the Season Finale of Kathy Griffin: My life on the D-List Kathy recieves some award at the Hilton Theater at the time that the Pirate Queen was playing. When they showed the audience it appeared that they were all sitting at tables. How did they get all those tables in there? Are they able to remove the seats?
They probably just showed an audience from a tape of another awards show somewhere else. Typical for TV. You're probably the only one who noticed.

Now that I re watch it the footage doesn't look the same as the rest it looks "grainy" and more faded. I think you are right.
I actually noticed that too. It did look like the set in the background during Kathy's speech, so I was a bit confused too. It seemed like with the timing of the show, though, it may have been filmed before Pirate Queen actually started previews, so maybe they had no problem removing some rows of seats if there was no audience yet.
But with this show, I wouldn't be suprised. All season they've used stock audience footage spliced into Kathy's act, no matter what venue she's playing in. It's horribly obvious.
