This may seem early to be asking, but we are trying to plan our next NY trip. Do any shows ever add extra performances between Christmas and New Years?
Last Christmas, a couple of shows on Broadway had weekday matinees.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day fall on Saturday and Sunday this year, so I would be willing to bet that there will be extra performances for several shows.
They aren't often EXTRA shows...just rescheduled shows. There are a few ways around it but they can only have shows perform 8 shows within any 7 day period. (or maybe it has to do with days off.)
The week before xmas and the week after xmas you should expect to see more shows to offer Weds matinees (that don't already, Monday night shows and possibly matinees of Fridays.
I believe most shows will be dark all of New Year's eve, but be on a regular schedule for New Years day.
I think its too early for Playbill to post the graph of schedules, but if you go to telecharge and ticketmaster, you should be able to see schedules for individual shows.
