Hi. I loved the show when I saw it on May 29th. Howie Michael Smith is amazing... and VERY cute. The segment where the Muppets do "the nasty" is a revelation. I had no idea puppets had that....dexterity.. from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Funny you should ask ! I just saw it this past Friday ( after not having seen it since the original cast) and was quite delighted with both the show and cast. I actually appreciated it more the 2nd time around. That night understudy Jonathan Root was on for Princeton/Rod for the first time on Bway, (he played them in the Vegas Co), and was quite a revelation. He is a terrific actor and brought a different dimension to the characters that was very endearing.

The rest of the cast was spot on and the show is holding up just fine.

Actually, I saw Jonathon go on as Princeton/Rod last July (the first time HMS had called out since becoming fulltime Princeton/Rod). I'm very glad you enjoyed him though...I thought he was good and solid when I saw him - a bit too much like Tartaglia for my taste (at least, he was at the time), but he was enjoyable.

I haven't seen the show in about 4 months, but I'm pretty sure the cast is the same - HMS is personally my fav. Princeton/Rod, Mary Faber is such an amaaaaaaaazing and talented Kate Monster, Haneefah Wood is absolutely HYSTERICAL as Gary, etc. They're all a blast!

Howie Michael Smith and Mary Faber are both excellent! I personally don't like Hannefah Wood as Gary Coleman, but I haven't been thrilled with a Gary Coleman since the original.

Did anyone else notice the changes they've made? The beginning of Purpose is slower, they CUT the bridge in Schadenfreude (one of my favorite parts of my favorite song in the show!) but they ADDED the "It Sucks to be Me" reprise at the beginning of Act II. I thought there was one more cut, but I can't remember what.
It's just a message board. Let's not take it too seriously.

Saw it for the third time on May 23rd (first with my 14-year-old daughter) and it holds up really well. Love Mary Faber to death (she's been in it all three times) and thought Howie and Jonathan (who was on as Brian) did very well. Biggest new highlight to me was Minglie Chen, who was amazing as Christmas Eve...almost Ann Harada level. Was not fond of Ann Sanders my second time through.

Also not a huge fan of Haneefah--she was fine and got better as the show went on, but not a ton of enthusiam and way too dependent on the Coleman smile.

Well, I saw the show in September with most not all of the current cast members and it was in very fine shape.

It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali
