This week's issue of Time Out is dedicated to theater with some interesting articles, pictures and a very fun 3 point list from our own Marc Shaiman of what SHOULD be done in the world of Broadway...

Sure.. make me type them in! (by the way - the artist who drew the charactature drew you with lots of hair and about 10 years younger re: How To Fix Broadway: Time Out NY

1) Cheyenne Jackson would be in every show, naked as a jailbird, belting a high A

2) Every internet theater message board poster should remember that the producers of the shows aren't reading them, but the mother of the person they are writing about is.

3) My fellow TONY award nominators and I could accept bribes

It's a great article. In addition to Marc's witty comments, there are opinions and observations from Albee, Patti LuPone, Tony Kushner, Ted Chapin, Daryl Roth and others.

Craig-

By any chance, was it a caricature of Marc that the artist drew? re: How To Fix Broadway: Time Out NY And does Marc want Cheyenne to be naked as a jaybird? re: How To Fix Broadway: Time Out NY re: How To Fix Broadway: Time Out NY

Yes to caricature, negative to jaybird. The exact quote (right or wrong) is Jailbird. Perhaps a reference to jailhouse rock?

Hmmm, I don't know. I don't think Marc is that clever. re: How To Fix Broadway: Time Out NY

I did not like the picture from All Shook Up and caption that said it should "Go directly to jail- There should be a law against jukebox musicals."
Not cool!
