I've noticed a lot of people on the boards saying they've sat quite close to the stage for both of these shows and I can't seem to find good seats anywhere I'm looking.
I'm going to NYC July 20-23 and plan on seeing both of the shows. N2N isn't that big of a deal to get close to the front row (though my friend and I really would like to) but HAIR we definitely want to sit near the front on the aisle. Any help would be majorly appreciated. :)
well you could:
1. Ticket Broker- but they are very expensive
2. Rush/ Lotto- very hard and may not get tickets
The best way would be to go on very off days and get your tickets asap. Call the box office or use Telecharge.

Thanks for your reply. :) For HAIR I'm thinking about getting premium seats since every time I search I get center orchestra row A seats... just a question (and I know this has been asked to death) but you get TONS of cast interaction here, right? Do they walk in front of you often? Or should I try to find a Row A seat on the aisle?
At this late date its going to be hard to find aisle seats for the dates you are looking for....and not pay an arm and a leg. But I'm sure the tickets are there to be had: for a price. (Ticket brokers, ebay, etc)
I bought my front row tickets for August BEFORE the Tony Awards.
The ROW gets plenty of interaction...but there is no guarantee that you personally will. They cannot interact with each and every person no matter where you sit.
I find that if you go JUST for the interaction you will probably be disappointed....as there is no way that the cast will fulfill your hopes. The show is amazing and moving, the interaction is just a small part of the experience.
PS...you cannot call the Box Office to order tickets. They only do in person sales. (Actually, it's really hard to CALL most box offices directly.
You are looking for tickets for two of the hottest shows on B'way right now only two weeks before you need them and during the always busy summer season....you aren't going to be able to be too picky.
Hard to get bad seats for N2N, but I did find my experience much more intense closer to the stage. I've seen the show from front row mezz and 2nd row orchestra. I'm seeing it in August from 4th row dead center...can't wait.
rush for N2N it's worth the wait and it's the cheapest tickets.
if you do get premium seats for Hair yes the front row does get a lot but like drama said it's not guaranteed for everyone. if you do get a front row center aisle seat tho, you will definitely. if you can get front row tho i'd say go for it.

You could probably go to TKTS and get center seats for N2N.

Yankeefan007 - That's not usually the case. N2N often only sends partial view seats to the TKTS booth - so they might be center, but they'd likely be so far back that the overhang blocks part of the view.
movies35 - You probably realize this, but N2N has a Monday show that might be less well sold than the Tuesday. Also, you might try checking two days before you want to see the show to catch any house seats that get released.
HAS N2N been on TKTS a lot?

It's not consistently on TKTS, but sometimes it pops up. It's mostly only 30% or 40% off, and like I mentioned before, usually partial view.
I have heard that HAIR will hold a series of seats as premium to see if they will sell, then they release them at regular price as the date arrives (someone who has seen the show numerous times said it is like 72 hours before the performance). You could possibly risk it and wait till your trip is closer and keep trying telecharge or one of the other ticketing sites.

Thanks for the replies, you guys. :)
The cast interaction definitely isn't the only reason I'm going to see HAIR. I've had the cast recording in my CD player since the day it's been released, I'm absolutely in love with it. It's just a plus. :)
Our plans changed a bit now though. I got a call earlier today saying someone quit our community performance of SOUTH PACIFIC, so they needed a replacement. Now I'm not going to be able to go until August, so hopefully I will be able to find better tickets now that I have a bit more of a wait. :)
well good luck with the show then!
I'm sure you will be able to find tickets more easily now.
Now I'm not going to be able to go until August...
Just a reminder that Gavin Creel will be on vacation from HAIR August 11-16. Personally, I'll be going back during that time specifically to see Jay!Claude yet *again*, but ymmv on that sort of thing.
