How are sightlines in the Palace balcony?

My previous visits to the Palace landed me in the orchestra, but I have balcony tickets to LEGALLY BLONDE.
Is it as bad as people have said?
I've sat in the balconies of the Shubert, St. James, Hilton and New Amsterdam and they weren't very bad.
Is the Palace's balcony set very far back. Have you missed anything from previous shows by sitting there?

Posted: 3/30/07 at 3:14pmif you watch the latest "going blonde" video on broadway.com, you can see the view from the balcony. They take the camera up there and look down onto the stage with the curtain for the show.

I have seen that video.
But it's not a good representation of actually sitting there.
I'm looking for more personal accounts.

Posted: 3/30/07 at 3:16pmI sat there twice for LESTAT and once for ALL SHOOK UP and didn't really like the view from up there. However, it was very inexpensive and at least I got to see the shows...so if the balcony is all that you can afford, it's worth it.

Posted: 3/30/07 at 3:24pmI sat in the Balcony for LESTAT (well- the first act of LESTAT), and seriously felt like I was suffering from vertigo or something, it was very high up and very far away- or at least that's what it felt like. The theatre was pretty empty, though, so we moved down to the orch for Act II.

Posted: 3/30/07 at 3:34pmvery high, very steep, and you can barely make out facial expressions. Moved down to the Mezz for Act 2 of all shook up.

I know I'm very late, I just thought I'd post a picture of the first row, center balcony at the Palace. I didn't feel THAT far away, and I also didn't feel to high up. It's a beautiful theatre, but the dome needs to be lit. I don't know why it's not.

Posted: 1/27/08 at 12:04pmI sat in the balcony for Lestat. You could hear everything perfectly, but you couldn't make out much of anything that was happening onstage. And it is definitely ridiculously steep. I'm not afraid of heights at all, but even I felt like I was going to die.
