How could Joe Schmo get tickets to an opening night performance?

I would really, really, really love to go to opening night of Million Dollar Quartet, but I'm wondering if there is anyway a nobody like me could score tickets. I am a broadway supporter having gone to NYC three times last year and seeing 19 shows. But I don't know anybody, have no connections, but I spend big money supporting the art. I just don't know how to get these tickets. I only have to have one, but I'd probably spring for two if I could get them.

Call Ticketmaster and talk to a real operator. Unsold Opening Night tickets often are sold to the public a week or ten days in advance. I've been to every Opening Night of HELLO, DOLLY! since 1964 and I didn't have any special contacts at the time.

I don't think you'll have a problem getting an opening night ticket for this show. You may not get the best seat in the house, but at least you can say you were there. This show has a relatively low profile so far, so you might even cop a great seat. Good luck!!!!!

Quite often shows that are low profile like this one have tickets at TKTS for their opening night.

Even A View from the Bridge had its opening night on TDF. You should have no problem getting tickets for this.

I've been to a couple opening nights and I just bought the tickets like I would for any normal show.

perfectlymarvelous, what opening night shows have you been able to get into? I'm really hoping theres some way i could score two tix to American Idiot's opening night - but because its such a high profile show i'm not sure if its possible.

i have been to quite a few which were offered by the papering organizations. To be honest it isnt all that different from any other show.

The first Opening Night I ever attended was BALLROOM in 1978. I simply walked up to the box-office window that afternoon, plunked down my mother's MasterCard and got a seat in the first row of the front mezzanine on the center aisle.

Simple.

My mother went postal when the bill came in, though.
