In "Showgirls", the understudy pushes the star down the stairs and takes her place. Later on when she visits the star in the hospital and apologizes, the star says, "Always remember there's someone younger and prettier coming down the stairs behind you.".

I give you the case of, "A Texas teenager angling for the lead role in a school play is facing charges that she spiked a competing actress's drink with Clorox.".

"I've lost everything! Luis, Marty, my baby with Chris, Chris himself, James. All I ever wanted was love." --Sheridan Crane "Passions" ------- "Housework is like bad sex. Every time I do it, I swear I'll never do it again til the next time company comes."--"Lulu" from "Can't Stop The Music" ----- "When the right doors didn't open for him, he went through the wrong ones" - "Sweet Bird of Youth" ------------ --------- "Passions" is uncancelled! Holy crap.

I would go pretty far to land a good role with a prestigious professional theater, but I would under no circumstanes resort to causing another person harm.

I would sleep with the director if it were Broadway. Then again, I doubt people are dieing to sleep with me, but worth a try!

Wasnt this exact thing a subplot in CAMP?

I would marry Sweeney Todd, not Michael Cerveris, the real one, to play the Begger Woman. My avatar could be our wedding picture (even though that is Cerveris).

If Percy Blakeney were in Les Mis....

Percy: Sink me! If it isn't Javvurt!
Javert: Zsah-vair, it's pronounced Zsah-vair.
Pecry: But it's spelled J-A-V-E-R-T Javvurt.
Javert: Repeat after me Zsah...Zsah....
Percy: Oh! Zsa-Zsa! Like the Gabor sister! Well I personally have always prefered Eva.
Javert: (Looks for gun)

doodle- that was my first thought. Didn't one girl put something in another girl's drink? I can't remember exactly.

I am reminded of a great quote:

During the tryout of a Sondheim show, things were not going well, and one actor cried out: "Who do you have to f*** to get out of this show?"

Sondheim's voice from the darkened theatre replied: "The same one you f***ed to get into it."
