One of the things I have learned from posting here: No matter what you say, no matter how benign or seemingly innocuous, SOMEONE will be offended!
P.S. I like to "over-use" punctuation. I think it's fun!!!!!

Correct spelling of a name is important, because it's the respectful thing to do. I am a terrible speller, so I often search for the correct spellings. But if someone has made a reasonable attempt at proper grammar and it's evident from his writing that he has a grasp of written English, I do not think his head should be bitten off for misspelling a word. I liken posting on a non-academic message board to causal speech, and how many of us speak in proper English all the time in a causal setting? If I were to correct someone's casual speech in a bitchy manner you can bet she would rip me a new one. Sometimes I politely correct the speech of my friends who are non-native English speakers, but this is because they have asked me to.
That said, I do make an effort. I type most of my posts in Word and then proofread them; however, if I miss something it does not mean I'm lazy. People should discern between those who have made an honest mistake, and those who are too lazy to make an effort.

BTW, orangeskittles-you wrote "Even worse is the people that include..."
If you want to nitpick, the correct form is "Even worse ARE the people WHO include..."
Kettle, meet pot.
No, it would be a "kettle, meet pot" situation if I ended my entire post with "(grammar?)". Someone needs to search for the definition of hypocrisy.

"There are two ways to spell it"
Actually there are WAY more than two but I won't list them here. *s*
