People, please:
Bob Sagat? Kristen Chenoweth? Hmmm....if you don't know the name, don't write it...and do not start a new thread!
Ps. KristIn and SagEt are the right way to spell those two!
I, personally, get annoyed with the Kristen/Kristin thing. My name is Kristin as well and Cheno spells it the CORRECT way and so should everyone on this board.
If I am not sure of a name spelling, I Google it before I post. I am sure my posts have typos at times, but some of the spelling I see in posts is just awful and annoying at times. Especially when they are all in one big long post. I try to go over my post and check for spelling before posting it.
Even worse is the people that include (sp?) after a butchered word. Clearly, you're already not sure about whether or not it's correct, so make the freaking effort and look up the word yourself before posting.
I'm not sure, how hard was it to type six extra question marks to your question? That's how hard it must be.
Does it bother you?????? (yup 6 more)...I'm just sick of the so-called Cheno fans that aren't even able to spell her name!!!!!!(6 there as well)...

People make mistakes. Many people who makes those mistakes think that s/he is spelling it correctly without knowing that it is wrong.
And in defense of the whole Kristin/Kristen debate. I have met people who spell it both ways. Theere are two ways to spell it so I would not that upset over it. Coool Kid is right, there are people who make mistakes without realizing that they are wrong.
just sick of the so-called Cheno fans that aren't even able to spell her name!!!!!!(

Yeah, I'm of the belief as well that multiple punctuation marks invalidate one's argument.
Oh for godsakes, call the spelling police on everyone who types in the wrong letter.
BTW, orangeskittles-you wrote "Even worse is the people that include..."
If you want to nitpick, the correct form is "Even worse ARE the people WHO include..."
Kettle, meet pot.
Haha...honey, the reason why I'm on this board today is because I'm at work and it's a slow day...haha...and multiple punctuation marks rock!!!! Honestly, if BWW-Board was all I had in my life, how sad would I be!
"and multiple punctuation mark rock"
Shouldn't that be "multiple punctuation MARKS rock?"
Pot number two, meet kettle.
Janky - I agree with you, it is completely rude and discurteous to misspell someone's name!!!!!!
Madbrian I like you, but JankI, not Janky...haha...
Hug!
Hey, I'm going with the flow here-madbrian, it's "DISCOURTEOUS."
It's Janki with a I
Not Janky with an Y
'Cause Janky with an Y
Goes "eye" not "eee"
It's I instead of Y
EEE instead of EYE
It's simple as can be
See, Janki!
Posts about insignificant topics trouble me more than incorrect spelling.
I consider any post where a name is spelled incorrectly to be insignificant.
Having been an English teacher, I used to be unforgiving about people's misspelling and so forth. Then I became the parent of a child with profound learning disabilities, which was very humbling.
How do we know what issues a poster might have? Before criticizing someone for their grammar, spelling, punctuation use and so on, consider that for some people, it is not a choice. I have actually met BWW members with learning disabilities who stopped posting because they were made fun of.
No one is perfect. In the big picture, I am much more concerned with the attitude, tone and motivation of the poster--as well as the content of their posts--rather than pointing out their "deficiencies." I hope others can be forgiving of me and my weaknesses.
I was not criticizing misspelling of words, but of names. Misspelling a word can happen to anyone...
Seriously, who cares? If it bothers you enough to warrant 6 question marks you have bigger issues to deal with than correcting other people's spelling.
And misspelling of names can happen to more people, since there is never just one correct way of spelling names, where there's a dictionary for words.
Oh Jesus...I should never have written anything, ok!
I'm sorry! Now how does one delete a thread?
You're correct on that one!
Just change the title of the thread to "delete" or pm the mods.
