I haven't seen it yet and am thinking of going in next week to possibly see it.. has it been good lately and is it worth it?

It's nothing that I would really recommend. I definitely had a great time, but that was probably because I was in the standing section of the theater (people tend to dance a lot). The show definitely has some amazing dancing, but there really isn't a truly memorable song and the story tends to wander (the first act can get boring). I wouldn't spend a lot of money on this, but if you (like me) only spend $27 to get in it's worth it, I guess. That's just my opinion though.

i loved fela! i saw it off broadway and then recently at the o'neill, and it has definitely improved. it's not your typical musical, but worth seeing.
to my knowledge, please correct me if i'm wrong, but it's the most critically acclaimed musical of the season, so i'm not alone in my love for this show.

If you have the money you should go and see it. It's a really unique show. The choreography is beyond amazing.

snob, funny, because i just had your back on the memphis post, but now you reply saying i'm wrong and giving no evidence. just did a search a can't find a single negative review. see link for a review roundup. have you even seen the show?

Well it certainly has more praise than Memphis...and it should, it is unique. I just didn't personally love it, I was very hot and cold.

Will, I agree with you. But honestly, I wanted to like it so much, but the show was so flawed and so all over the place. I think it belongs to Off Bway. I didn't enjoy most of it, it's not a musical, but a play with music in it I'd say.

I still don't want to discourage anyone from seeing this. I've seen a lot worse this season...

One word: Spectacular.
Novel, inventive, with more energy and life in its pinky finger than Hair has in its whole body.
Doesn't matter if you aren't familiar with the man or his music - I certainly wasn't. Sit back. Take everything in - it's like Cirque du Soleil in that respect, there's always something to see. It's immersive, imaginative, and one of the best shows running on Broadway right now.
