The recent revival of "42nd Street" ran for 3 & 1/2 years, and it didn't recoup either.

Musicals about men with mental handicaps often don't recoup. Look at "In My Life".

With the exception of Disney, most shows will release a statement.

My understanding is that they sunk so much money in to the three "pre-Broadway" productions that it's going to take a while. Plus the Shubert is one of the most expensive houses to rent. Their average ticket price has been in the mid range. I think all of these factors come in to play.

Also, to my understanding, many weeks out of the year they only make just above their weekly nut. This makes for a longer recouping period as well.

I wonder how expensive the show is? It seems like a "big" show. When I saw it I was impressed by the huge sets and whatnot. I think they thought releasing the movie would help, but it hasn't. Maybe they should try to get the movie played on VH1 or something. There's also not much mention that Adam Pascal is in the show, which I think might be a big draw for Rentheads.

The Shubert Theater, is the same as any other theater to rent 6-7% of the gross.

Even with how big the sets are and the 3 out of town try outs, it must be close to recouping.

How much would Adam Pascal be on a week? How much would other cast members be on?
