I really don't think that they should scale back further, I think the tour should stay as is. Also, please let this stay Equity...

What we think, and what the economics of any production are, are two very different things. ![]()

Just noticed Jennifer Bowles and Matt Harington are now with the tour playing Miss Honey and Mr. Wormwood. It also looks like Heather Tepe and Marisa Kennedy are with the tour, as well. http://us.matildathemusical.com/tour/cast-creative/cast/

Does anyone know if the show is going out another year? Looking at the site, they only have dates through June, and I don't recall seeing it on any schedules for the 2017-18 season. It would be a shame if this closed after just two years on the road. I thought it would be much more marketable than that.

I feel like Matilda in the states was a disaster. Barely 2 years on the road and not even 4 years on Broadway while it's still running in London?

Plus there's a U.K. tour planned to begin in a year or two. I wonder if they will be using parts of the us touring set.

The show recouped on Broadway... that's hardly a disaster.

How many awards did it win in London before it came across the pond? I will answer for you. 7. It broke the record of Olivier awards for most ever.
You would think that show would run longer than less than 4 years and have a tour run only 2 years.

Which of course is no longer the record.

It's probably a different tour than the US one but Matilda came to Canada. I took my 7 year old twice as the show even got extended by a couple months....and we saw it on Broadway first time. The show was great. I'll say that I enjoyed it even more the second time in Toronto...maybe because the first time we went shortly after it arrived. But the fact that it got extended meant that it was selling well. Both my 7 year old and I love Matilda...which is hard to capture all audiences in a single show.
