How is the show doing money wise?

Not very well, from what I've been reading. There is talk that it might close when David Hasselhoff ends his run. Some feel it might close in May or stick it out thru the summer, but it's definitely on it's last leg.

Sad to hear that. I kinda expected it though (as did many people) They cut out most of the good stuff anyway.

Saw the show last night, the house was only between 1/3 and 1/2 full, on a Friday night...I'll be suprised if it makes it to June.

Phantom has been doing just as bad. But they have kept it going. I don't see either lasting much longer. And I suspect Spamalot ( which I am seeing this week) wont fare much better.

^Actually, Spamalot is doing fantastic when compared to Phantom and Producers. I saw Producers about a week ago, and the theatre was pretty much empty beyond center orchestra, yet the ushers told us it was sold out the previous night, and also it was a matinee.

Yet, many people there talked about struggling to get into Spamalot, as it's been selling out, also with 300 more seats than when the theatre held Avenue Q. Of course, Q was quite popular within its first month, and only time will tell. But maybe this will be the first non-jukebox musical (though it is very revue-esque at times) to succeed in Vegas...

The ushers last night told us the same thing, that it is always sold out, yet everyone I've spoken to that's seen it, has said the house is only at about half.

Spamalot is doing just ok. We have tickets for this week and they are comped. the advance is not that spectacular. Along the same lines poor hairspray had.

Even though Mel Brooks is a well known comedian and David Hasselhoff is everyone's guilty pleasure, it's no surprise that it's doing pretty bad.

I see Spamalot running longer than any of these. The drunks in Vegas will see "MONTY PYTHON" and go rushing to it. lol.

I'm suprised to hear Phantom is not doing too well. The theatre was packed when I saw it in December, but then again that was winter break for most people.

since most of these shows are not selling to full capacity, are there any ways to get discounted tickets like TKTS for Phantom, Producers, or Spamalot???

That's the problem with comped tickets - in a sense, there is nothing invested in seeing the show and a hot craps table may be too hard to resist. I never thought this was a healthy development for Broadway shows anyway, so I can't say it would trouble me if the experiment ended soon.
