The real-deal-thing is that if anyone had any brains, they'd never DO "Rent" at the Hollywood Bowl....big screens notwithstanding. Hmmmm, LosAngelenos sitting out in the balmly/hot evening of Summer trying to imagine the NY Village in winter featuring slackers of immense immaturity... (well, the LA-ers can relate to the "slackers of immense immaturity") and being expected to take any of it seriously? The Bowl is the Bowl is the Bowl, and not made for everything. Been there, played there, done that. Ah well. Maybe they should just cast movie stars and have them lip-synch. Nobody'd know the difference!!

I would cast it with actors who have never been in Rent before, and definitely no one from the last tour.
