Wow, more of my youth will be gone. I ate there so often in my early theatergoing days......Good prices, good food........Best value for me was their "grilled in butter frankfurt"...I don't recall what it was served with....probably potato chips and a soda........but I remember it included dessert and I always got their maple walnut icecream.

The prices are outrageous now... we went for breakfast and they gave you fries instead of a breakfast item... I liked it... and I love how iconic it is... but My aunt said she would never eat there again... I would have...

The food at HoJo's was never that great... but they made fantastic milkshakes! And THAT is what I will miss.
Also it was a great meeting place... "I'll be at HoJo's after the show...meet me there!"
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

Posted: 4/19/05 at 7:35pmAs a kid there wasn't a matinee we attended that wouldn't be proceeded by a noon family meal at HoJo's on a Wednesday or Saturday. Although it lost its charm for me in later years I will always remember their crunchy fried clam sandwiches, spicey roast beef barbeque sandwiches, flat HoJo colas and yes...those wonderful maple walnut sundaes. World take me back!
