The New Victory has under 500 seats, so it cannot be a Broadway theatre.

* New Victory

When the New 42nd Street project was being put together, it was decided that there wasn't a need for nine Broadway theatres, so the planners of the project decided to determine other uses for some of them. The New Victory, the first of the theatres to be restored, was earmarked to be a children's theatre early on, and so it has remained.

* Town Hall Theater

It's a concert venue and doesn't have the wing space to be a Broadway theatre.

* Lambs Theater

It has been gutted and is becoming a hotel.

* City Center

I suppose it could have been used or designated as a Broadway theatre, even though it is too large to house a show on a long-run basis. Some of the Jean Dalrymple limited run revivals of the late 50s and early 60s were even designated as Broadway" productions, if you search IBDB. But for decades, it has been used as a multi-purpose venue for dance companies, concerts, etc., and is not available for use for a commercial Broadway show.

Also I think the Lambs had under 500 seats as well.

It did. It had around 300 seats, I think. They were hard wood and really uncomfortable, although it was a pretty little theatre.

The New Victory, though, used to have a higher seating capacity, when it was a Broadway theatre. If ever they wanted to make it a Broadway house again, it wouldn't take much to make it so.

I really wish they would make the New Victory a broadway theatre again. I think it is so lovely inside.
