Now that is has been about a month after Barrett left, does anyone know how Howie Michael Smith is doing in Q? Anyone seen him?

I posted a review last week. Do a search and find it. Needless to say, the cast is uniformily great.

Have only heard great things.
slight thread jack-
Has anyone heard about the other Princeton that alternated with Tartaglia in Vegas he was really great...I wanna say his name was Stephen Root or something? He would be a great stand by. I would love to see him eventually step in the role.
Jonathon Root - he's actually the current understudy in NY. I went to Q to see Howie about 2 weeks ago, but got to see Jonathon instead.
He did a really, really good job...except, for my tastes, he's a just TOO much like John Tartaglia. He looks somewhat like him, he performs the role exactly like him, and he literally sounds EXACTLY like him - I had to do a double take during BA in English because I thought they might've just been playing the cast recording. He was highly enjoyable, but almost like a carbon copy of John.
yeah he did remind me a lot of John but I guess it didn't bug me b/c I didn't see John.
Threadjack:
John and Barrett were amazing at Floptz last night.
So was Todd B and Andrew Bolger.
I miss Q. I will have to see it in a few months.

ooo-
Corine! Can you do a full review? Any pictures?
The first broadway show I ever saw was Aveneu Q over sprind break and Howie went on for Barret Foa. At first I was upset for an understudy but he was awsome.
I have some pictures from Floptz last night I can post and I'll review/recap a little.
Do the pictures have to be in photo bucket to post them or can they be on shutterfly or another website?

Alix- I'd love to see pictures and read a review! I don't know if the pictures have to be on photobucket or not though...

Exactly what my sister said when we saw him in Vegas. Steven Booth may go on the touring cast, and he does a great Princeton, and a good Rod without copying John T...

For fans of Howie, here's an interview with him at Playbill.com. He talks about 'Avenue Q,' the Gay Games and much more.

Saw Howie on Sunday night - I thought he was great. He wasn't exactly a carbon copy of Johnny T - there were times I wish he had some of the quirks that JT put into Rod. All in all it was a solid performance.
Now, who really blew me away was Mary Faber.

I saw him this past Saturday (matinee) and he was good. The original cast will always be my favorite.
However, I think Barrett was also fantastic (although not in the original cast.)
Don't get me wrong, Howie was good. He took both Princeton and Rod to different levels. I think I like his Rod better than Princeton though.
Sweet Q-
Did you see John and Barrett? If so, which did you like better?
i didn't care for Howie that much, in my opinion. he reminded me too much of Hal Sparks and a lot of his gags were too scripted. like he was concentrating TOO much on coming across like John

Yes, I saw both. Actually, the first time I saw it, Barrett was understudying. I saw John the next 3 times and then Barrett the rest of the times I saw it. I really can't decide who I liked better. They were very different.
I want to say I liked Barrett better but it may be because I saw him last.
