So I tried the lotto yesterday and had a really weird experience with it. I arrived to put my name in around 5:45 but no one was there. I went in to the box office to ask if the lotto had been cancelled. They said it was cancelled today (Saturday) but would still occur tomorrow (Sunday). The women then proceeded to ask me how many tickets I needed. I told her just 1 and then she said she could give me a box seat for student pricing. When I asked she said there the policy was that lotto would not always happen and rush never happens. So I have NO IDEA why I got the ticket, but I just got the ticket and didn't want to argue it!
The show was great! So much fun in 2 hours! And just to let people know I sat in Box E and "THE box" is box C.

Also, I think "THE" box changes from time to time. I sat in Box C for the matinee yesterday and the event in question occured in Box A.

Posted: 11/21/11 at 7:27amSo what's up with this lottery? My daughter tried to enter it this Sat. and was told it wasn't going to be held. Is it only through the box office now? She doesn't read theater boards so depends on me for info updates. I hope someone finds out for sure and lets the public know. Thanks.

"The" box is Left Box A. (Seating chart is incorrect).
Tickets aren't generally sold for that - they're generally house seats or used by the producers for invited guests, for this show.
I actually had those seats for a performance (purchased through a regular Telecharge transaction) and got a call that they had been sold 'in error' so was moved to center orchestra.

The official show site is just listing student rush as going on sale for an hour after the box office opens. It says ages 25 and under with student ID and proof of age, 1 ticket per person. I guess they've ditched the lottery?
Are they still doing standing room?

Posted: 11/23/11 at 7:30pmHave they been strict about the 25 age limit since it switched from lotto? My friend and I (both 26 year old students) are going to be in the city in a couple weeks and were going to try for tickets. Bummed if we can't anymore.
