Hugh Jackman earns another EMMY nomination for 2005 TONYs

He is flush from the box office success of his latest movie (XMEN:TLS), he has earned another EMMY nomination for hosting the 2005 TONYs, and he is now busy rehearsing for his return to the stage in The Boy from Oz in Australia!

I think nominating the host of a Broadway awards show for a television award is the single most visible act of public onanism since The New York Jacks Jamboree.

He very much deserves the nomination. His "I won't dance" medley was just brilliant. I am convinced that man can play almost any role....

In case anyone's interested - here's what Hugh is up to these days.

It seems he's talking with The Sydney Theatre Company for a stint doing dramatic theatre onstage - hopefully if and when his busy film career permits.

Also, there is a video link showing Hugh and the Company rehearsing for the arena version of THE BOY FROM OZ. It is a number that was in the original Australian production but which did not transfer to Broadway ( replaced by LOVE CRAZY).

If anyone is interested in seeing a clip from the Boy from Oz rehearsal in Australia, click on the link below. Hugh and the cast are rehearsing Peter Allen's "Pretty Teen Keen" which wasn't in the Broadway show. Hugh also said "Tenterfield Saddler" (which he sang at the Nicole Kidman/Keith Urban wedding at the request of Nicole since it's Keith's favorite song) is going back in the arena show.

Yes he did - although this year he may not attend the ceremony since he will be doing Boy from Oz in Australia.
