re: Hugh Panaro to be Jean Valjean in Philly's Les Miz

Taka, I thought Christina was a very good Eponine. I'd become pretty bored with the character, but I really liked her.

Thenardier...I can take or leave the character as a rule. Scott was, perhaps, a little too likable...but this was the first time in years I didn't sigh and wish "Master of the House" would end already.

I did a informal review, but it's far too long to repost here. I need to condense it later for my blog, but here's the link to it for now.

I'm pretty sure it's the leg. Later, while he is coming onstage for Empty Chairs, he is using a cane to support his right leg, I believe. And he grabs his leg when he gets shot.

I seem to recall him getting shot in the butt with enough force to spin him around! re: Hugh Panaro to be Jean Valjean in Philly's Les Miz

Marianne, I did the same. I loved watching the barricade boys during Master of The House. Drew Sarich tonguing an empty bottle and then licking his fingers before stumbling off to the back was a favorite of mine. :p

I should mention that Hugh will not be doing the Tuesday performances. Nicholas Saverine will cover the role until July 20, Jeffrey Coons will cover it after that.
