It's such a relief that I can finally talk about this. I normally love keeping people in suspense, but I've known since the audition and was just so happy to post the news on his site this afternoon.

I wonder if he'll bobble his head during BHH.

That's great news. He's an excellent choice for Valjean! I hope I can make it up to see him. Congrats Hugh!

Neato! I doubt I'll get a chance to see it, but still.

I've been in touch with Hugh and the PR people at The Walnut...and I'll be doing an interview with Hugh via e-mail for his web site.
I have a pretty good list of questions, but if anyone here would like to ask him something about Les Miz, please let me know. I'll include a few general questions, too, depending on how many we have.
You can PM me here or drop me a note at his site.
Thanks!

Saw him as Marius on tour years ago. He was great and so cute! He has a lovely voice. He'll make a great Valjean. Wish I could be there to see it...

yay that is such an amazing cast!!! but does anyone else think its kind of weird christina decicco is playing eponine? i always thought of christina as a full on soprano...i guess eponine's role is in her range

Why are most regional production press photos always so cheesy? LOL. The ones for Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities' production of Miss Saigon are similar.
Anyway, he looks a bit young for the role. But I'm sure he'll do alright.

I think Christina will bring so much to the role of Eponine. My friend is the wig designer at the Walnut and we were talking last night about how amazing the cast is. He was saying that Hugh totally blew everyone away at rehearsal singing "Bring Him Home" while sitting down. He said the man's voice is flawless. I cannot wait to see this production!

I also think he's a little young. But, if he can start to play the role now in out-of-the-way venues such as this, he can ride this role all the way to the bank for years to come.

I'm sorry, but I don't think he'll be believable as a hugely powerful ex-con. Of course, so few Valjeans are...
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
