Hugh on The Tonight Show

Embarassing. Simply embarassing. Leno, that is. Does he really have to ask Hugh questions about kissing a guy? Aren't we a little past that? Did he ask Charlize Theron if she killed someone as research or if she liked it? Jesus Christ- there's a reason I prefer Letterman.

As for Hugh- I admire him ENORMOUSLY. Wonderful performer, kind person. HOWEVER- in some interview when he was dealing with the inevitable gay question his response was : "Please, I have a wife and child."

To the best of my knowledge the child was adopted so that is really not proof of his heterosexuality.

It bugs me that his sexuality is an issue- it should be the talent- which he has in spades. He's not someone like that Scientologist whose image, not acting ability, sells tickets.

And if they want a gay Peter Allan in BFO, I nominate Chris Seiber- his name would not sell tons of tickets but I'd buy one to see him.

I wonder if Leno will ask Hugh if he killed any vampires or worried what people would think of him for having such intimate contact with undead creatures.....

Look, it's stupid, but the questions are inevitable. It's still somewhat unusual for an actor to take on a role as a gay person. At least Jackman got to address it in a light-hearted way. And honestly, Leno was downright graceful compared with one of the idiot hosts of The View- she must have asked him about it about 5 times, with thinly veiled horror every time.

Yes, their child was adopted- after his wife had multiple miscarriages. Take from that what you will. Besides, like you said, he shouldn't have to "give proof" of his heterosexuality at all. This isn't an interrogation. He is who he is. Whatever.

And yes, Jackman looked very nice on the show. :)

Hugh seemed like a really cool guy. He definately made me want to the see the show.

Every one of the questions have already been asked on "The View" and "Regis and Kelly." Hugh didn't seem like his usual self last night. He seemed a bit flip talking about the woman in the first row's enormous "tits."

third row maybe it is jet lag? If he flew out after Sunday's show, and taped 2 or three shows he could be sleepwalking around CA. But that is just my 2 cents.

I thought the interview was very funny. Yes, he did ask about the kiss, but it was all very light-hearted. I didn't fine anything offensive about that. It was cool that they talked a lot about BFO. I kept waiting for Leno to go like "and going on to Van helsing" but he stayed on BFO for awhile which was cool =D.
