i did see lestat and i thot it was really bad and in some scenes i laffd really hard even though they were s'pposeta be serious the cast is really good (i even saw jack noseworthy and liked hiim as armand) but teh music is boring and teh lyrics are painful and the show is too darn long and i'm writing this in a way i assume you'll understand better than if i do it the rite way
You just happened to run across this posting while you were browsing tickets for sale? :)
I want the tix.
Yes, actually. I did a search for Lestat because I do want to see it again, but I'll do my damndest not to pay full price.

First off, I just wanted to say I'm a Newbie here and I just joined pretty much to see what people were saying about Lestat as I don't get to see it till the 19th ( I am a HUGE Vampire Chronicles fan ) And obviously I've mostly just heard negativaty or outright hatred for the show here, which is disheartening to say the least. However, It seems some people here just really have it in for the show in a big way...Is that normal for a new show? I'm not really familiar with the online Musical Theater fandom, but I do know how Online Movie fans are ALWAYS negative, so maybe it's just an Internet thing. Anyways, I DID want to thank LizzieCurry for putting up the links to the Blog Search Engines in another thread; I read maybe 20 reviews from people and most were Good/Mixed or Outright loved it. Yes, I read several that hated it, but as I continued to read their Blogs it became obvious that they didn't have my taste in anything else either so I wasn't surprised.

You can find a ton of reviews on the Lestat Musical Forum: http://forum.lestatmusical.com/index.php?getforum=32
wow that terrible why would you laugh if you dont like the show thats fine but show a little repect and maturaty by not laughing
well i loved it and i think you will love it when you see it on the 19th i wish i could see it again....dont believe everything on the internet...read professionals reviews...alot of people get on the internet to scare people out of seeing and people who did like it dont usually waste their time trying to change other people opinions but thats what im trying to do god help me....its not going to well so far but im going to keep trying
wow....why would you want to see it again if you hated it so much
I never said nor implied I hated it. What I should've mentioned earlier was that I was very entertained most of the time, and I know Lestat will provide me with inside jokes for years to come. However, most of my entertainment came from either horror or disbelief at the badness of it all.
Actually, before I ever saw it, I wanted to see it more than once, just so I could see what'd been changed. And I still hold to that. I just don't want to pay full price.
okay i understand now...that clears up a lot thank you
Do you win anything if this show fails LizzieCurry?
Pfft. I didn't like Wicked.
If you took most of the armchair critics and wannabes (and in most cases, nerverwillbes) that post on this message board seriously, you'd never see another show or movie again. NEVER... EVER... let anyone else's comments influence you one way or the other whether or not to see a show or movie that you're interested in seeing. Go and decide for yourself. There are too many people around here with hidden agendas and chips the size of Texas on their shoulders to be taken seriously. And then there are those (who shall remain nameless) that will always take an opposing (usually negative) view of anything that is too popular or, in their opinion, is getting too much attention. (Apparently, it takes too much attention away from them.) So, proceed with caution and go with your heart.
I agree about not taking everyone on these boards seriously, make your own opinion. But this show, in the state it is currently in, in my opinion will tank. The lyrics are poor, the music not memorable, and the book needs a lot of work.
I went into it with an open mind, but wow, I was not impressed. I hope it gets better before New York.
Some friends went on Thursday and had the same response. They would've left at intermission but I had told them at least the songs in act 2 were a little better, again, my opinion, see it for yourself and judge. But see it early in New York if you can't catch it here, as I have a feeling it won't last there too long.
Tonight is Opening Night, the reviews should be out tommorow online, but likely in Tuesday's newspapers. I'm interested to see the "Professional" critics reviews.
The critics will have a field day slamming this show....I saw it on New Year's Eve and I want our money back.
