At least you can take comfort that the far superior film version will always be there for you.
As I've said, there's always the tour.

I know.. but the film is not anything like the show..
Well.. i think i'll just wait 20 years for little shop to get revived again...
I'm sure in October you can find a high school that will be doing it.
and they'll probably do a better job.
Oh yes. I went there.

Yeah, go to http://www.mtishows.com/show_home.asp?id=000188 for a list of schools.
LSOH does not suck, NM.
Menken and Ashman were incapable of producing anything but brilliance.
But it was a flawed production, to say the least.

LITTLE SHOP SUCK?
LITTLE SHOP SUCK?

Little Shop does NOT suck!
Little Shop does not suck, no. This production of it did. The only way I can explain it is that there was just "something missing". I'm sure a lot of you can understand what I mean by that.
ahh, yes. the ever-so-definitive "something".

Well.. I don't agree with you matt.. I LOVED this production of Little Shop. It wasn't WICKED or TBFO, but it was a very fun production. And the cast (original) was great.
I saw little shop 5 times (on broadway) and i just can't understand what is the "missing part" you and everyone else talkin' about.
Thank God it wasn't WICKED.
The production was boring. It was completely miscast.
Leave something like that to be done off-broadway. It did amazing there in the 80s. Why don't people leave well enough alone?
Stop bringing off-broadway success to the big stage.
If a show does well on a $1,000 budget, don't make it into a $50 million one.

No, it wasn't WICKED. LSOH's book and score put that show to shame. No, it wasn't THE BOY FROM OZ. LITTLE SHOP is actually entertaining. But not this production of it. It WAS completely miscast from the day it hit Broadway. The show was a lot better with Alice Ripley and it was a real shame they let her go because she added something special to it and by the time it hit NYC, it had completely disapeared.
I totally agree.
The songs were all off. The sets were drab. The costumes didn't do anything.

Not all shows are hits.. But it doesnt really matter if it's a off-broadway to broadway show... Many broadway shows close very soon these days

LSOH is an intimate show. B'way houses don't provide that.
You have a VERY good point there, Priest. That's one of the reason it worked a lot better in Florida and I didn't even think of that.

Wait, did little shop played at a smaller house in florida?
