Add me to the "Mann" list...with a few reservations.
Loved him in his hay day as Rum Tug Tugger in "Cats" and his "original" Javert. Didn't care for his comeback, though.

His beast was truly special! He's a very nice man...but reserved.

His Chauvlin was "Terry style". I must admit he complimented Douglas Sills like an opposite bookend. It's a tough role to pull any real emotions from, sice most of it is spent in anger and vengence. But he and Doug were magic! (though William Michals was every bit as impressive).

Enjoyed his Rocky Horror role.

To me Terry is a wonderful actor, a great director and true asset to the theater world...though I think he ran hot and cold in some roles. Just my take.

My wifes absolute fav actor of all time!

Have seen him in CATS, Scarlet Pimpernel, Beauty and the Beast, The Guys (downtown), Lennon and of course Les Mis - he IS Javert! Of course in film in "Chorus Line", and yes, even in "Critters!!! - lol

Met him an a Audition Workshop he ran as paying viewers/visitors. He was brilliant, having the actors/actresses come in and do an audition, gave them pointers, and had them do it again. There was soooooo much improvement after they took his advice!

And a really nice guy to meet. Met him on the street again outside Lincoln Center, just before seeing "Showstoppers". Found out from him he was going to be IN it as Javert, alongside Colm Wilkinson (who we knew was going to be there). What a treat!!!

I saw him at the closing of Les Mis and I wasn't impressed, it was kinda hard to watch him in the role. I was shocked that he was the original. But, I did see him in Lennon and thought he was great in it. I'd would love to see him in something again.

He played a maniacal Javert at the end of the Imperial Les Mis run - perfect!

Personally I find his Javert underwhelming, but LOVE him in BaTB and the Scarlett Pimpernell.

Ws his Romeoa nd Juliet similar in any way to the cheasy but kinda fun hit French stage musical which ran in Mtrl a long time? (I believe it had some connection to Notre Dame).

I dunno on record his Beast seems great--I saw John Barrowman in it in London and he had trouble projecting past the costume (of course John has a hard time projecting anythign when he can't flash those pearly whites re: I LOVE TERRENCE MANN! )

I was just talking about TM today with my friend. I LOVE this man: his voice is incredible, acting is phenomenal, and he's such a lovely person. Totally agree with ya'll- he IS Javert.

Wow I never realized how many things he was actually in until I read this thread. I finally watched the ACL movie a few weeks ago, and had commented that his performance was one of the only ones I could stand. I knew I knew him from somewhere, did some research, than this thread, and it all fell into place. lol!

I didn't get to see him in BaTB but I love him on the cast recording.

American Theatre Wing had a good Podcast with him and he talks about the various shows that he originated the roles. He seems like a pretty cool guy and yeah he's done way more than I knew of.
