"I Love A PIano" Questions#1
Posted: 4/22/09 at 7:35pmHey, is anyone familiar with this show? I couldn't find any recordings of it or anything. What's the show like, etc? Is it pretty dance heavy or more of a singers who can move? Or is it more like "White Christmas" where they have big dance breaks?

I don't think there is a recording. I think Denver Center Attractions was/is a partner in the show.

Ah. They're doing a Non-Equity tour of it and they're holding auditions, but just didn't know if it was a big, dance-heavy show.
I know Arena Stage did it this past spring, right?

Posted: 4/22/09 at 8:18pmI don't know. I haven't been following the show and I feel bad that I didn't see it when it premiered here.

Posted: 4/22/09 at 10:14pmIt's been out now for at least a couple of years now as a non-Equity tour.

Posted: 4/22/09 at 11:27pmMy cousin toured with the show last year. There are 6 characters (3 male/3 female) and the show is pretty much a musical revue that moves from the 1920s-1950s. Each song has it's own loose story line, so it's not similar to White Christmas which has a main plot tying all the songs together.

Posted: 4/24/09 at 1:45pmI saw the tour at Arena Stage this season (stupidly not realizing it was the tour, because this house usually does not have them). It was dreadful. A few standouts singing wise, but the book and concept could have been devised by a 5th grader.
