I'm seeing avenue q tonite. I am VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY excited. Now to those who have seen it is there anything SPECIAL I should make sure I see? I have recently noticed that I tend to miss at least one or two actions in a show that I should have seen. ONe of those "spur the moments". Are there any of those in AVenue Q that I should make sure I see?

Yeah. Make sure you don't miss the stars that appear before your eyes after you've blacked out from so much excitement..
Only joking.. enjoy the show :)

Try throwing money to the actors running up and down the aisle during "The Money Song!"
I tried an entire purse, and alas, didn't make it that far. Damn rear mezzanine seats.
Have fun! It's an awesome show.
pay attention to the video monitors in the openning i missed a lot of jokes at first in the openning when i saw it
When I saw it, not only did people give away money, but some of the actors had the puppets steal money. I remember Nicky came up to a girl sitting in front of me and snatched the purse right off her lap and ran away. (Of course, he gave it back to her, but it was funny nonetheless.) If I were him, I would've kept it.

Yep- that happened too, the stealing of the purse! Good times! ![]()
And I loved the reaction of the audience after the bar scene (you know what scene I mean, don't want to spoil it for people who haven't seen or heard Ave Q)- there was practically a second of shocked silence, and everyone started either screaming or laugh-screaming. That was hilarious. (I knew what was going to happen so I didn't really get into it
)
Lucky stiff enjoy i hope to be going again soon.
It is so much fun.
when you get back from it tell us how you liked it
I am VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY ETC. HAPPY THAT YOU ARE SO VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY EXCITED. Gee, get a grip!!!!!!!! I will be seeing it in June. Enjoy.
I haven't decided yet to go or not. Why would u recommend it?
It's ****ing hilarious, excuse my french. And honest. Which is hard to find in musicals these days...

Because it's splendiferously awesome.
Pick up the cast recording, it'll give you a good idea of the show. If you died laughing like *I* did the first time I listened to it...go see the show.
And if you don't, go see it anyway. It's a great show...if you don't believe me, look at how many people here love the show, and read the reviews.
(said in particularly whinny voice) BUT WHY??? Or more specifically what. I was never a fan of the Sesame Street style of puppets so I am not sure how much i personally would like this. Persuade me but be specific.
Sesame Style of puppets? I don't remember the Sesame gang discussing racism, paying the rent, and homosexuaity. Though I always thought Oscar the Grouch was a closeted homosexual...
Anyway, you can't get more specific than that. Go see it. Schnell!

No no no.. Bert and Ernie are gay

Please tell me I'm not the only one who found this show highly, highly over rated and over hyped.
No no no.. Bert and Ernie are gay
I've debated this topic. I think that Bert and Ernie were just good friends. Oscar, on the other hand...I mean, COME ON, what do you think he spent the day doing cooped up in that garbage can? Don't think he sat in there twiddling his thumbs...
I always thought Bert was gay and Ernie was too naive to see it.
So wickedfan, whatcha think? We anxiously await your report!
I hope you love the show as much as I do!
Okay, without giving anythign away I'l ltell you what I thought.
Great ensemble and the direction is just fantastic, not to mention a dynamite score. However, I will admit it does have a flaw. But I rarely see a show that doesn't. It's flaw is the book. The first act scenes were just okay. But the second act got a lot better. Would I reccomend it? Definatley. Not to old people. In fact, four old people sat nest to me and during intermission one of them said "Well, besides for the sex song, it's very good." I was in shock. I thought that was one of the highlights of the show. Anywya. There you are. 1 to 10 (10 being the highest) I'd give it a 9.

When I saw it, after the Money song Princeton pulls a MetroCard out of the hat...does this happen at all shows or was this just what an audience member threw in?
A Metrocard was also pulled out of the hat when I saw the production.
woah cant wait to see it!!!! (already have the cd)
Last time I saw it, there was a Metrocard in the hat as well. I think that is now in the script.
Supposedly, several Tartaglia fans dropped wrapped condoms in the hat as well!
