I Met Melissa Manchester And I'm So Happy About It!

Last night, I went to the Bass Concert Hall here in Austin to see a performance of "Funny Girl." It was a fun and enjoyable show....though Nick Arnstein was a heel. Hannah Shankman played Fanny Brice. Her singing is ahmazing! The whole show was a theatrical feast. Izaiah Montaque Harris was absolutely thrilling as Eddie Ryan. Stephen Mark Lukas played the role of Nick Arnstein. I met all of them at the stage door, which is right next to the loading dock. There were a few people at the stage door. A few cast members came out and eventually people left. I was hoping to meet Melissa Manchester. One of my favorite songs is "Looking Through The Eyes of Love". I did wait for a bit and then she emerged. She was walking together with the show's conductor Elaine Davidson. Once I spoke with her, I was a bit tongue tied and mentioned that LTTEOL was one of my favorite songs. Ms. Davidson volunteered to take the picture. I was so happy to meet her. By the way, the conductor's hand made a special appearance in the picture...which I thought was so cool.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Miss Manchester looks lovely. The next Funny Girl tour stop is New Orleans.
