Hi - I'll be in NYC this Mon - Thur. I would love to experience Then She Fell, but as I'm sure you know, it's sold out. I only need ONE ticket, for either Monday, July 7, Tues, Jul 8, or Wed, July 9.

I know this is a real shot in the dark, but is there anyone who can help me??

At only 15 tickets a performance, you words, "a real shot in the dark" are an understatement. You have good taste in theater though. Then She Fell, is a wonderful evening. Very provocative.

I doubt this will help, but a while back I had reason to contact Third Rail Projects. Here is a working email: tom@thirdrailprojects.com

I hope you are able to see this truly unique and fun performance piece.

Thanks for the response. I've sent an email. Another shot in the dark. :)

I gather you haven't been successful, yet? Sorry to read that. Did you get a response to your email?

With so few tickets, this really is a near impossible request. Have you thought about other shows. Let me suggest some other brilliant theater going on around town with similar difficult chances - although slightly better - of getting into.

Immersive:

Here Lies Love
Sleep No More
Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812

Traditional:

Kinky Boots
Pippin
Matilda

Reach for the stars and who knows you might get to the moon.

I recommend checking the ticket calendar on the Then She Fell website frequently. By doing that, I was able to score a ticket to last Saturday night only three weeks ago. The scarcity model obviously works very well for Third Rail, but eventually they do have to give up the tickets they've been holding back.

PS. There are tickets available for Monday night at Sleep No More, the least expensive night of the week for tickets, and they're $50 cheaper than Sleep No More. Go to that.

Thank you, both of you. I have been and will keep checking the official site. I've beent o Sleep No More and have heard good things about Here Lies Love.

From reading online, I'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around the type of immersive experience one has at Here Lies Love. Could you give me an idea?

From what I have read, you stand on the dancefloor and Here Lies Love happens around you.

It's sort of like you're inside a nightclub/disco with the performances walking around and the stage changing shape as you're corralled into different areas. I would equate it somewhat to FUERZA BRUTA in terms of immersion. Not sure if there would be standing room tickets available for this week and that's definitely the preferable place to see it.

Would anyone recommend Murder Ballad?

First let me say, I thought, Here Lies Love, brilliant and a ton of fun...

Not sure if you know LuEsther Hall at The Public Theater. Basically, its a medium sized black box space that is rectangular in shape. It also has a another floor above the main floor which is how there are a limited number of static seats.

From the moment you arrive in the space, you will feel like you're in a high-tech disco. Loud music, mirrored ball, speciality lighting, projections, smoke, etc. The only think missing is the lack of a bar.

If you're fortunate enough to be on the floor, you stand around a series of stages that initially border the walls and a large center platform. Many of these - and others that are revealed later - move creating multiple configurations of the space. The audience moves with the platforms by following the instructions of the stage crew who are dancing among us and are clearly staff by their attire, jump suites with sequence.

The performance is completely sung and the vast majority of it is disco music. It is not structured like a traditional musical, or even opera, but none-the-less you are given enough information to understand what is going on and there is both a story and character arcs.

The performances are stellar. The cast is amazing. The direction and choreography is at times breathtaking, always engaging. There are many many visual images that are astoundingly beautiful.

I highly recommend catching this, again, if possible.

I would most definitely recommend MURDER BALLAD. I'll be seeing it for the third time this weekend. You'll be able to go while Rebecca Naomi Jones is still in the show and she is by far the highlight of the show.

Seeing Murder Ballad on Tuesday. Very exited.

I thought MURDER BALLAD was a deeply misogynistic musical (that just happens to be written by two women) with a non-existent libretto, dreadful lyrics and an even more dreadful score. It was the most interminable evening I've ever spent in a theater. And despite my free ticket, I left the theater feeling robbed. I wouldn't wish it on my mortal enemy.

But I do love me some SLEEP NO MORE...
