I can't decide!!!
I can't decide!!!#0
Posted: 1/13/05 at 10:53pmSo, I am going to a Broadway show tomorrow night, and getting student discount tickets, but I can't decide for the life of me what show I want to see! I finally decided on seeing Fiddler on the Roof, but then I started thinking, "Oh! I could try to get lottery tickets for Wicked or Hairspray and if that doesn't work out, get tickets to another show." But I am completely open to seeing any show on Broadway. Any opinions would be great. Thank you so much!!!

Posted: 1/13/05 at 10:55pmi would go for the more popular shows now, right after the holidays, when ticket sales are the slowest. you'd have better luck with them now than a few months from now.

Posted: 1/13/05 at 10:55pmwell on saturday i'm going to la cage and little women... but i would go with fiddler... you get to see harvey try something completely different (and by all accounts not badly too!) and andrea martin is hysterical... plus the show is a gem...

I don't know about Chicago, it's kinda old if you ask me. I think the movie kinda tired it out. But definately Wonderful Town is good. But if you don't want to be saddened, go see Wicked, Shoshana's pretty amazing and she and Jennifer Laura Thompson have made it a COMPLETELY different show, yet it's still amazing. Also, definately see little women. Try to see a couple of shows, there are a lot of good ones out right now.
Finally, if you can't decide, see something that's closing soon. This may be your last chance to see it.

Forget Wicked. Of course, there is a slim chance you'll win the lottery, but you will be going up against hundreds of other people.
Shows I would see include the Producers, Fiddler on the Roof, La Cage, Beauty and the Beast, and Wonderful Town (because it's closing Jan. 30, but that would be my last choice).

Posted: 1/13/05 at 11:00pmEvidently Fiddler is a very good choice right now. But as long as you're open to any show, why not try Gem of the Ocean or Democracy? If you really want a musical, then The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is only Off-Broadway in terms of the size of its theater- it's at 43rd and 8th- so you might want to try that.

Buy tickets to see Wicked and Little Women.
Beauty and the Beast is fun and Brooke Tansley captures Belle so beautifully.
