Probably just one of those rumors, but a friend of a friend said they'd heard about the Altar Boyz challenging the Backstreet Boys, and that they were thinking of showing up at the CD signing. Hilarious! Anybody see the letter in Time Out? I've got to be there! Tuesday at 5pm at Virgin... love that it's at Virgin, so appropriate

whaaaa?! HAHA i know its a rumor but that's phenomenal!! Virgin all the way! Juan would love it. whether they think they're too above the challenge or not, Time Square is great exposure. we were all kidding around (we the Altarholics) but if it really became a reality i'd die! LOL Altar Boyz groupies and Backstreet groupies will have a hell of a time meeting each other. i'm going to post some of the challenge ads around school today. :)

I'll admit to having been a fan back in the day - I own the CD's, I went to a concert, etc - but what are they thinking? It's been like five years! I know plenty of artists have much stronger longevity than five years, but they were all part of a fad/phenomenon. I can't imagine the album's going to be that successful. They may as well go challenge the ABz!

Most of us are now in college, in the work force, married, have kids, etc...we aren't really in the same place as we were 5 years ago. Although I will be interested if they take on the ABz

i agree most of us have grown up who used to be into them. ONLY if they show up i'll buy their album, and one for my mom. did you hear that Backstreet Boys? LOL
this promo's gotta be better than their stay at Irving Plaza.

I almost want to make the trip from home to the city to see this. Figures that's one of the only days all summer I *won't* be in the city.
If BSB is still taking one last stab at fame, I can't imagine them finding the ABz too funny, really. Of course, if BSB had completely given up, I could see them being pretty open to something that completely laughs in the face of their institution, but they seem to still be taking themselves seriously! heh.

Oh must I school you young'ns again? Backstreet's Back, Yo! They currently have the #18 single in the country (Incomplete) which was picked by Billboard magazine as the "Greatest Gainer", the song that is climbing the charts the fastest.
I doubt they will have time to swing by and teach those upstarts a lesson, but I wish I could be there if they do. Having just seen them on their triumphant, sold out club tour BSB got it going on!

And I don't know what the single sounds like as the only rendition I heard was that moose call Federov was doing on Idol. It's the only way a *comeback* can be made. Look at Mariah Carey, she's having the success she's having because she finally made an album that's not a total turkey and has some undeniable hit songs on it. I agree that the BSB's have nothing to lose and everything to gain but I still doubt they'd show up.

It would be great if one of the BSB showed up. It would get more press for the Altar Boyz. I wonder if born-again BSB Brian sees the humor?
I'm fond of BSB and NSYNC but it's the New Kids On The Block all the way for me. Haha! Someone wanna challenge with a Bay City Rollers comment? :o)

Mark's definately got some Lance in him. i wish some boys from all the boy bands back then (and now) would come hang out with us! that would be a press field day!! hey why not even the Lacheys! They're selling Jessica's products just around the corner at Sephora! lol i have high hopes for Brian because of the religious twist.
imitation's the sincerest form of...they should be flattered. the Boyz are spoofing but i really believe more people have picked up their own BSB/NSync CDs and revisited their songs due to the Altar Boyz. the nostalgia may make the old fans revert back to their fanaticism and prime them for the comeback! they really should do SOMETHING with this event...
