I was wondering, in case anyone happened to know this early, who is hosting the Tony awards this year? Will it be Hugh Jackman again?
Oprah was the big rumor, but that seems to have died off. Won't Jackman be doing Boy from Oz in Oz at that time?

I'm wondering if they are going to try and get Harry Connick Jr.
I wouldn't be surprised if Lane and Broderick were approached.
Never thought about Julia Roberts. But I wouldn't be suprised. I am sure they would feel that she might bring in more viewers. I think they should get Oprah to do it. Her legions of fans would probably tune in. And all she would have to say on her show is "Watch the Tonys" and they are probably there. A bit scary that one person has that much power!!!
Ellen DeGeneres would be the best. Can't you just see her performing in the opening number with the casts of the various best musical nominees?
I would like to see John Lithgow host.

I could see Connick Jr. hosting but because he will likely be in the running I think it would be a bit strange.

Now THAT would be fun!
Didn't Hugh Jackman host when he was in the running?
Several performers have hosted when they were nominated. Close, Lane, Broderick, Jackman...
My money is on Harry Connick Jr.

did all the hosts that were nominated win? that's what I don't like. its likes "if you host, you'll win."
Broderick didn't, but Lane, Close, and Jackman did. To give Lane credit, he did host another year where he was snubbed of a nomination.

I like the Ellen DeGeneres suggestion. She'd be so much fun. What about Billy Crystal? (He should've hosted last year, but...)
Ellen would be fun, but is she a big theatre person?
