Posted: 9/21/08 at 5:05pmBecause i saw it on one of the last nights laura bb was there and she was fabulous but the mics were funky so it started late and the whole show just wasn't funny and awkward. and people just werent perky and hyper; they looked REALLY bored. I don't know if it was just that night or what but I don't know why people like it. Am I the only person that hates LB???

Posted: 9/21/08 at 5:07pmLEGALLY BLONDE: the musical completes the mission it sets out to accomplish: make the audience forget their troubles for 3 hours.

I think LB is a very under estimated show. It's not like "Dumb Blonde becomes a Lawyer" it's about more than that. It's about not judging people and each lead symbolizes that.
Elle: Obviously, don't judge a book by its cover. Anyone and everyone is Smart. She's just really positive and sometimes thats mistaken for stupid.
Emmett: really doesnt fit in with everyone in Haravd. He's smart, and deserves to be there, But he's not rich like Warner and Vivienne. He had to work his way up and work to afford to be there. And he's looks beyond the image which is why he gets Elle
Paulette: looks almost like white trash. But she's like Elle's second mom and has a really big heart. She's also self concious before she meets elle, but in the end she gets past that. But she really helps Elle look at life through the other side of the fence and see how the other half lives. These proves that one person, no matter who it is can make a difference!
Warner: looks like he has it all. But he's really insecure, and really gives into in family's peer preasure. That's why he dumps Elle for Vivienne because, Vivienne meets the family standards
Vivienne: may seem like a bitch but truth is she's jealous of Elle. Elle is prettier and was Warner's ex. She also feels she has to put her game face on. But in the end she gives into Elle's mesage and embraces that. (prettier in the show. Kate Shindle is gorgeous!)
Callahan: looks like King of the world. Big Job, Big name. But he's an asshole and a sleeze.
Brooke: Guilty until proven innocent. All the evidence is pointing to her in the trial but, she Didnt do it.
So yea... it's not a show about a dumb Blonde.

I am not the biggest fan of the show, and most certainly not a fan of its score. I found it to be a very unattractive and blandly written/designed piece of theatre. I am all for forgetting my troubles for 3 hours, but I'd like it to be of quality rather than mediocrity. However, I will admit that it has its strong points and fun cast. But moments don't make up the entire piece.
But I DO understand why others adore it so... and that is fine with me, because people perceive things differently. I just never "got" it, and I have been known to like shows that others find bland and mediocre (ie The Woman in White).
