"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Well... Tornadoes in Kansas isn't really a stretch and the phrase "No good deed goes unpunished" was around waaay before Wicked.
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!"
-Kermit the frog"I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P."Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu""...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu
After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu

I really don't think it was a Wicked reference. Tornadoes are common in Kansas which is probably one of the reasons the location was chosen for The Wizard of Oz and the no good deed phrase predates Wicked. It was a coincidence, maybe, but I don't believe it to have been a direct reference.
well, im sure it wasnt a direct reference to wicked... although, Betty Suarez Loves wicked... duH! there was a complete episode last season dedicated to it, and the plot lines were woven together.. so although its just coincidence, she does love wicked :)
its not... i mean, when ppl said it was, i listened, and couldnt even hear it... cuz its not! lol the words may be there, but unless it sounds like it, its not a tribute
and, sorry for posting that if everyone was aware lol, im sure some ppl werent!
Did anyone think there was an intentional "Into the woods" reference when that guy said it to Vanessa Williams?
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
How can some guy saying you ready to go "Into the woods" to Vanessa Williams (or whatever it was) be a co-incidence, they must have known it has puns

Oh come on, guys. With the previous Wicked mentions (even scenes from Wicked when Betty and her date went) do you honestly think it was just a coincidence that they picked Kansas to have a tornado and that Betty ends up being called Tornado Girl, complete with t-shirts. You don't give those writers much credit for being clever do you? Of course it was planned!
I'm annoyed over the Queens accent the character of Justin seems to have much more obviously than he used to. I understand he lives there, and his mother has one too, but for some reason his character is starting to annoy me and I don't want to be annoyed by him because he's a great character.
"It's the little things; the details, that distinguish the Barbra Streisands from the Rosalyn Kinds."~Gilmore Girls~
see, im starting to love him more, because its not as if they try and make him seem not gay... and he is such a flamer now! i love it! he is so funny now!!!!
