Hey guys, once again, so sorry for this subject being brought up again! But this is kinda important for me. I'm planning on doing the lottery tomorrow, but I have school until 3. Good news is, I'm leaving school early, at around 12. So obviously, I can't camp outside the theater, like some people may do, but that worries me. I would get to the theater at say, 12:45-ish, but I'm so freaked that the line would be ridiculously long, and I'd be cut off. Now, if you guys say, "get there much, much earlier," I'd be happy to do so, but it will take some hard begging to my mom (She is hardly happy about me even missing a few hours of school, let alone a whole day). So please, I need your help. How early should I get there without getting there super early? Thank you so much, and for the others trying the lottery, good luck!

Why the assumption that they're cutting the line off?

I don't really know, I just thought they might, due to massive crowds. You saying they won't? In that case, that's better for me, thanks.

Well, I have no idea, but I'm just wondering why all along people have thought that.

Also, getting there at 12:45 should be fine, if they're not *letting* you line up until one.

I think I read somewhere that they wont even allow people to line up until 1 so you should be more than fine.

They may not "allow" people to line up until 1, but what about people who just SHOW UP prior to that? I mean, do they have security in place to turn them away, or keep them from lining up on their own?

(For the record, I live in Georgia and won't be anywhere near there, but the line of posting made me curious. Do they have a plan for that?)

I'm not going to bother trying since I have class tomorrow, but I'd be surprised if they actually enforce this "no line until 1" business. I've seen stuff like that for GA at concerts, and whenever I show up 10-15 minutes before they said the line would start, there are always a ton of people in line already.

I wouldn't be surprised if people start forming a line down the block or something (assuming they do stay firm with the rule) and then try to keep their general places and move in at 1. Whatever the situation is, I'm kind of thinking it'll be a mess. Either that or there'll be a lot of people like me that just say "screw it, it's not worth the aggrevation," and it won't be so bad.

Good luck, folks!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that if I show up before 3 pm, it's still fair game to enter the lottery. I will have a little break down if I am deprived. Though I'll just be likely to make it to the mayhem just as they are drawing out the names, which will be the bane of my existance.

Is it just a misconception to compare the numbers to say Idina's week at Wicked, or even the Virgin Megastore signing. The entire world was there...I went around several blocks. Updated On: 4/23/06 at 09:18 PM

They should be firm at a 3 shut off of the line. I know it could be tough if people are still swarming in around then, but they should have someone at the end of the line and just cut it off at 3, take the names of all the people that were there (however long that line is) and draw once all those people get in. I'm sure there will be some pissed off people that show up at 10 past or whenever, but I'd be livid if I got there in time and then people that were filtering in late got in and were drawn. I hate when that happens at regular lottos. Grrr!

I hope they have a big bucket!

I would say if you don't get there by or before one don't bother- if they are drawing at 3 I don't even know that the whole line would be able to submit their cards by then- it will probably be INSANE. I could be totally wrong though

I know this sounds sketchy, but it's really not, but if anyone is willing to give me their cell # that will be at the lottery, so I can figure out if it's worth rushing down when I get out of class at 2 pm, I would be very grateful. PM me.

what happened to the idea of having people show up like two weeks in advance somewhere (in like a big rented space) and just having anyone put their names in, then a week later, you would get a call if you won the lotto?

or am I just making that up? I swear I read it somewhere though.
