Posted: 6/15/08 at 8:14pmWhat a disaster! I know many of you love this AWFUL, DREADFUL worst ever musical, but I hated every single rotten moment of it. It's clearly going to win if it won best book. I'm miserable about this! (i know it's trivial, but...) ):

Posted: 6/15/08 at 8:18pmI think we are the only people to think it's dreadful. I never understood how it got the raves it did. I really did not understand what i was watching. It's like a bad acid trip and it's not the performers fault. When you compare it to shows like South Pacific, Gypsy,August Osage County you cringe at the future of Broadway..

I'd say it's up in the air as to who will win. Could be Xanadu sneaks in if they split the musical votes. I'm not pulling for that to happen...I want ITH to take it. But it could.
edit: I think it's hard to say for sure because it was pretty much agreed that the book was the weakest part of ITH. So it not winning that doesn't necessarily say anything.

I've never understood why people like this show. My gut tells me PS is going to sweep the book, score, musical categories... the revivals were better than the originals this year, though...

I am officially going to mock the **** out of anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled for the Tony awards but insists on hanging around a message board of theatre fans who're talking about the Tony awards. It's possibly one of the sillier things people can do. Even if we don't announce winners in thread titles, the feed at the top will fill you in. :P

First off, isn't there already a Tony thread, or 12? I was bored and decided to pop in to BWW to kill time in trivial threads ('favourite so-and-so', 'funny tourists', 'memorable whatevers') and figured I was safe, seeing as I generally just scroll past the news feed (tonight of all nights).

Well, you figured wrong. If you even figured at all, as the LAST thing I would do if I wanted to avoid Tony spoilers would be to come here. If I just COULDN'T stay away, I would at the very least stick to the Off-topic board. :P

Sadly, I must admit that the excerpt I have just witnessed made me wanna stay farther away from Broadway than check out anything new. I don't think PS is much, judging from it's excerpt.
