Hi! I'm super-excited! I am in the LaGuardia Arts High School (the "Fame" School)'s production of Ragtime! We open Thursday night, and, despite having loved musicals for 11 years, this is my first full-fledged musical! Try to break my leg!

Break a leg, hell, break two.
Heard back from someone who was at the preview saying the cast is phenomenally talented.
Break lots of legs, and an arm or two.

Amazing, have fun! One of my best friends is in the cast. I realy wanted to come see it but sadly I can't. Brake a Leg!!!
Break a leg! Ragtime is an awesome way to start, I might add.
Toi Toi Toi
And don't screw up.
does LaG no longer hold their productions in the Spring? I seem to remember the Spring Drama Festival being the yearly Drama event.
...oh, congrats!
The most important thing is to enjoy this. Joy is contageous, it's the greatest gift an actor can bestow on the audience. Fire, passion and joy.

As a fan of the show, and as a costumer:
break a stiletto.
Best of luck!

Break a leg! Is there any way people not connected to the school can see it? Is it open to the public? If so, when are the shows?
Break a leg. But correct me if I am wrong, LaGuardia wasn't even around when "Fame" came out, they combined 2 other performing arts schools and got LaGuardia. So why does everyone always call it the Fame school?
Break a leg! You'll have to come back and let us know how it goes.
leefowler - The show is open to the public.
Break a leg! Get some good rest the night before. Deep breaths. Relax. Above all: have fun!!

Thanks, guys! 6 hours to go!
I play JP Morgan.
The Spring Drama Festival is a sequence of threen straight plays, with only senior drama majors.
The annual musical is in the winter, and is open to any Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, but it is competitive to get into.
The Fame School was the High School of the Performing Arts. In the early 1980's, it combined with the High School of Music and Art into one school, which is now called LaGuardia. LaGuardia retained much of the staff of the High School of the PA, some of which are still here. It is therefore the closest existing thing to the Fame School. (Some HS's, like PPAS, followed after our model, but we are the original.)

I just got back from opening night! It went wonderfully, and the audience was VERY receptive. I can't ask for a better debut!

The second performance went smoothly, and the double-cast Mother and Coalhouse did their opening performance amazingly. 6 more (including a Junior High student matinee)to go!
