re: I recently ventured onto the broadway board......

I got it from some sherbert! (From one of those traditional sweet shops, which we randomly found while wondering around Soho before a show =) )
Yeah it was, I've only been to one + the park & Blue Peter ones lol.

i love them sweet shops! I went to one on the Isle of Wight last year that had sherbert on tap, like a drinks dispenser!! it was awesome!!
I love how this has turned into a thread about random Britishness!!

Ahahaham that picture is priceless Weez!

I do agree that the Broadway board can be bitchy, but what really bothers me are people who ask for sympathy. There are so many problems going on in the world that are far more important than a performance being cancelled.

Anyway I'm somewhat new to the West End board, and while the posters here are very critical of those on the broadway board, everyone is very nice and witty.

DayDreamer: Your post proves the point of much of this thread.

To use Weez' analogy you're not at the Regatta now, so stop being a killjoy, take off your boater and blazer, put on your speedos, grab a biscuit and a scone and get in the bloody Jacuzzi mate!

If scones aren't your thing we can order you a mojito - yes, that's right - you can get them over here now. I had one last night in Salford of all places! I ordered it precisely because I was thinking about you guyz on the Off-topic board.

We're not complaining about all Americans, just the aggressive ones. Look - there are friendly Broadway Board users Winston89 and LePetiteFromage in the jacuzzi already, along with our French and Dutch pals who also use the West End board. Not to mention our yank scrutiniser Exedore!

And if it helps, I'll tell Weez to put her tape measure away. re: I recently ventured onto the broadway board......

"My brain now genuinely contains the inside leg measurement of my favourite actor. God BLESS the RSC Open Day!"

What on earth went on there? Like I said on the other thread, it's about delivery as well as size.

Did you dress up in any of the costumes?

re: I recently ventured onto the broadway board......

They have these amazing folders, at least one for every play, where they have the entire costume plot, plans, photos, shopping lists, charts of measurements, EVERYTHING you can think of with regards to costume for a play. I spent a merry twenty minutes going through the 'Henry V' one. I like to think I haven't overstepped any boundaries at all, because these folders were on public display after all. re: I recently ventured onto the broadway board......

And I did get to wear this simply AMAZING long dark red leather coat. If you hear of a break-in at the RSC wardrobe department, and nothing was missing but a single coat, then I'll thank you not to turn me into the fuzz. :P

I'm not touching your filthy manparts, any of you. :P

What was your review of 'Music Man'? I really liked it; a lovely old-fashioned time, punctuated by a brace of Strallens. But I know my opinions can be warped when I see more than one show in a day, and seeing as I was coming from 'Six Characters in Search of an Author' as crackified by Goold, it's highly possible I appreciate it more for being straight-forward and having a definite beginning, middle, and end. XD

"I'm not touching your filthy manparts."

That's more-or-less what Alison Steadman said last night at Enjoy.

I do like the idea of dressing up in RSC costumes however; is it an annual event?

re: I recently ventured onto the broadway board......

Actually lepettitefromage was very rude when i went to the Broadway board the other day with a comment like 'who let you off the West End board!
The mods really need o get a lot of people off that board because they show no interest in the world of theatre, they just bitch people down in the most unpleasant way for no reason except that they think they are clever and funny!
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'
