I recently ventured onto the broadway board......

OMFG is all i can say lol - they're heading for public demise.

I have NEVER seen as many horrible ppl ever! (and you all know who i work for!!) There arguing about somebody's dogs for gods sake!!

lets worship the lovely BRITISH community (where else would people say goodnight to each other..how cute!) we have on this site and thank god we arn't as bitchy (well...) as those across on the other board... Lets be glad that we can post a review without anybody pouncing on your with harpoon & armies declaring your not fit to be alive cos you didn't like Wicked or Patti Lu friggin Pone.

There - i've said it and i suddenly feel all patriotic! I'm off eat cream tea and scones now!

Tell me about it!! Everyone there just seems to think everyone is against them, and any post that doesnt conform to what the majority think you end up with a 5 page thread about how they should die (yes it has been said!)

I don't think they dislike Wicked, I think they just REFUSE to like it.

I hate the Broadway Board now.

It's so ridiculous now that its just depressing to go there. People making loads of accounts and trying to be 'funny' or 'disruptive' or whatever the hell they're aiming for.

It doesn't achieve anything but waste time. Idiots.

Don't get that kind of behavior here in the UK. We're too busy drinking tea and watching cricket.

Hi, this is my first post here!
I'm on pretty much every other theatre-related forum (on a different name) so I thought I'd come and check this one out. I looked on the Broadway board and it is VERY bitchy over there! I love this one, so very British, stiff upper lip and whatnot!

It's not quite as clear-cut as we may think. Yes, we have a nice little community over here on the West End board while the Broadway board is generally a great big bitch-fest. But think of it as... watersports. The Off-topic board is a regatta, the West End board is a jacuzzi (probably with waiters in speedos :P), and the Broadway board is a great big swathing white-water-rapids-type river. As long as you know what you're getting into and adjust your posting/swimming style to match, they're generally all highly entertaining.

Except there's a real attack of idiocy happening on the Broadway board right now. It's not usually as bad as it has been lately, but it really is terrible right now. Which is both sad and embarrassing. :/

The Broadway board is getting so out of hand, its insane.And the worst thing is so many of them obviously rejoin and post annoying posts so the board can have a bitch fest.

You are not allowed to be a Rent fan either for some reason, maybe because they are all 12 and have no idea what impact Rent had in its day

Hmm, you're allowed to be a Rent fan on the Broadway board. Some people can be quite derogatory about a certain type of Rent fan, but there's a heck of a lot of perfectly sane Rent fans over there who aren't ashamed and don't get bashed.

Although... I have noticed you're not allowed to be a fan of Patti's Mama Rose over here. (Okay, that's an exaggeration; I'm sure if someone came along and said "I thought she was quite good actually", the worst that would happen would be a little spirited discussion as opposed to the shout-downs you can get on the Broadway board, but still. ^_^)

Thanks songanddanceman2, I'm Jessie everywhere else, as it's my name (Shocking, I know! =P) so people can just call me that if they want, it's shorter! =)
& I don't know the words to our National Anthem but I know all of Land of Hope & Glory from going to Proms, it really should be our National Anthem instead!

If we're keeping it traditional, then I demand Jerusalem. I'm SUCH a dork, I can't get through it without welling up. I'm ever so glad it's a popular wedding hymn and my old choir doesn't mind me only joining them for weddings. :3
