First, slut was amazing!!! I caught the matinee. the first thing I noticed when I walked in was the set. it is gorgeous!! they were playing jimmy buffet songs, and set a great mood for the piece. Everyone in it was perfectly cast with wonderful timing. My favorites were Jim Stanek, Jenn Colella, and Harriet D. Foy. though I can't really say favorites becuase I loved everyone, they each held their own and were all so funny. the music is great and very easy to listen to, and the humour of the piece is witty and ridiculous at the same time. please go see this show and support it. you will NOT be dissappointed. I wasn't I want to go back again as soon as possible.
I also got standing room for Spelling bee, which I didn't mind at all. It was my first time seeing the show, so I was so excited. all the originals were in Sat. night, and I loved every minute of the show. after the first 30 minutes, I didn't think that I could laugh any more. it was so funny and sweet, and I cried when *SPOILER** Logan got eliminated. *end spoiler* I loved it so much, and I didn't want to leave when it was all over. the I love you song was just perfect in every way.
all in all, it was one of the best days of theatre I have had in a long while. I enjoyed both shows immensly, and left very inspired.
on a side note, at the end of the night, collective soul was playing at the new mspot in times square at the marriot, got through two songs, and were shut down, becuase there were way too many people and cars could not get through, so the man shut 'em down. it was a great day.
