What IS it with the Fiyero's. Both on Broadway and here in LA, all them were subpar. Especially Kristoffer Cusick here in LA. Sorry I just don't see it, he was bland and boring.

It must be the role itself. It is pretty underwritten, and vocally it doesn't really sit well in ANYBODY's range. For most it's a little too high, and for others it's a little too low.

What? Are you kidding?! It sits perfectly in most "broadway" men's range (mine included). And it is a great role! Norbert rocked it (and yes he basically created it, but still, it proves that the role has life).

I respect your opinion, but I'll agree to disagree. I'm not saying that noone would sound good singing it or can act it well, but that it would be slightly uncomfortable for any male that I know (including myself), and whatever nuanced acting there would be could only be discovered (and done) by a brilliant actor such as Norbert. Realize that when one is singing something 8 times a week, even a slightly uncomfortable song can kill the voice.

Of all of the Elphies that I have seen or heard. Idina is still my favorite. When I saw her and Kristin, it was electric. Murney has to be my second favorite. Such a beautiful full voice and she is the only one, for me, that does Defying Gravity justice in the show after idina. Soshana can sing her butt off, but her interpretation of the song just doesn't seem to fit the character for me. To me it is more showboating than singing the song in character. But if I knew she was going to sing the song in concert that way, I would be right there. Even though it is like showboating, she sings the heck out of it. My least favorite was Ms. Block on the tour. She just didn't do it for me. The 1st time the tour was here I wasn't really crazy about it. It is here now and I don't plan to see it. JMO

Not if you're singing it properly :)

I saw WICKED once, with the original cast. And it was as though a green sparkle martian had thrown up all over the stage.

Yes, but how many pop-style Broadway singers do you know of that actually sing properly.re: I saw Wicked for the first time last night and...
In fact, I don't think it is possible to sing entirely properly, but vocal health depends on the individual (and the strength of their vocal cords). I have been singing for seven years (slowly but surely getting more "proper") and have never lost my voice, but I know people who have been taking lessons their entire lives who have had nodes or are frequently hoarse.

I respect what you're saying, and I understand what you're saying, but if they can't sing the song they should not be cast.

I mean, Denzel Washington? Gun to my head..of course.

I saw the LA Wicked for the first time last week and I was impressed by the 2 leads and the rest of the cast and crew, not to mention the magnificent set, costumes and orchestra!!!

I have seen Wicked four times now... most recently in NYC a few weeks ago.

Julia was FANTASTIC. However, I must say that I truly do miss Eden's raw performance. And YES... I miss her riffs. They were amazing. While I think Sho's were a bit much at times, Eden's came in at all the right times for all the rights reasons and were completely brilliant. I've never gotten so many goosebumps in a theater EVER!

Julia has a more polished performance but I think that's almost what I like about Eden's performance... it is so raw and fresh. More young and intense.

Oh ya! And Glinda!

Kendra I must say had a horribly weak first act. Luckily she saved herself in Act 2. She was SOOOO much better on tour in SF three years ago... what happened?

And Sebastian... well the only thing good I can say about him is that i LOVE his fiance (stephanie j block) and im sure their children will be amazingly talented!

Yeah, Kendra was definitely weaker in the first act. As I said, she managed to improve during the performance and by the end was excellent.

I was blown away when I first saw this show. And it was with Idina and Jennifer. Not only was it an amazing experience but I got to see George Hearn, one of my idols, live onstage.

I saw Julia, kenrda, and Sebastian right before they went to Broadway.. It was my first time seeing WIcked and I fell in love with it.. Then I saw it in LA with Eden and Megan.. I think Megan Hilty is the greatest Galinda ever.. even better than Kristin Chenoweth. I live Julia but I think Eden has an incredible voice.. I wish I had a chance to see Idina perform.. She's amazing. I love Wicked!!
