I just returned from her show at Symphony Hall in Boston and I am still on a high. I knew she was talented, but I had no idea how charming, sweet, and funny she was. She chatted with the audience, told stories, and just seemed to be having a good time. After the show, in the very cold and pouring rain, I made a last minute decision to see if I could say hello and thank her at the stage door. She emerged and was incredibly gracious and sincere to everyone waiting. Signing, talking, and taking pictures with everyone there. I thanked her and told her to please get herself to Broadway! She replied and continued chatting with me. It's nice to see someone with so much talent also be so thankful and genuine with her fans.
Welcome to the club :) I think she's just amazing all around and would love to see her in concert. Glad you had a great time!!! She has the potential to be a theatre legend!
I totally agree that she can be a theater legend. With "Smash" being done, I would think some producer is trying to find a vehicle for her. She did a great Dolly Parton medley.
I saw Megan in concert a few months ago at the Kennedy Center in DC and she was everything you said she is. I'll avidly follow her career from here on out.
(But in all seriousness, thanks for sharing your enthusiasm.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I've only seen the movie but the role is a tour de force. I did a paper on Cole Porter so I researched the show and it was thoroughly entertaining. It was a big vehicle for Gwen Verdon and I think it could be for Megan too. The dancing was amazing and I liked the songs. If revamped it could be great.
I saw her with the Boston Pops too and totally agree. She's a rising mega star. A good thing about Smash is that I noticed her talent and am now a fan. Can't wait for her next project, stage or TV.
