No, I know. But I think on the surface, it looked like any old staging of the show. Everything felt very "been there, done that." I mean, the set wasn't anything inspired. It was just there. The costumes were mostly bad. The lighting was just there to serve its purpose. There were no chances taken, I guess is what I was trying to say.
Really? Inspired? Which bridge? The one the guys come down on? Because that was stupid. Or the bridge "in perspective" that flys in? Because that looked like a ceiling.
Hey...maybe you don't even need to make major changes in order to make it exciting all over again. At the preview performance I attended there were 4 theatre patrons chatting cattily about the show in the lobby at intermission when one said:
"This show would be awesome if the gangs were shirtless"
