It would be somewhat cool comeback thing after the successes of her concerts and the failure of the Woman in White! But she defantely doensn't have enough "star" over here !

My vote would be Andrea McArdle.
Norma Desmond was not an old woman, she was middle aged,her late forties.
Andrea is 44 which makes Her the ideal age to play Norma, there has been a lot of throwing around the names of Glen Close and Liza Minnelli for an eventual film but they are (if I recall correctly) in their 70's having been born in the 40s -Close in 1947 and Minnelli in 1946.
Andrea is about the age Norma should be and no one can doubt Her singing ability, She can play up or down elements of Her age She is far from old but just at the right phase of maturity.
