#1'IL Divo' BWW Contest--Stood-up or a scam?

Hello Everyone,
I hope that someone here at BWW reads this message.
Last Monday, I got an e-mail telling me I won a pair of tickets to see "IL DIVO" live, for which the contest I entered here, on Broadwayworld.com.
I confirmed the e-mail and then was told that Allied Live Agency was going to distribute the tickets and that I will have my tickets held at 'Will Call' the night of the performance.
For some weird reason I had a gut feeling that this was not compeltely true, but still went along with it anyway. After I got the e-mail, I confirmed that I accept the tickets.
The concert was tonight in San Jose California at The San Jose Civic. Out of fear, I decided to spend a day in San Jose (live in San Francisco), with a friend and get to the Box Office early just in case.
Well, my gut feeling was right. When I arrived, neither 'Will Call' or the 'Box Office' had my ticket and could not confirm that Allied Live Agency and or Broadwayworld.com were real companies. In fact, the Box Office staff said they never heard of Allied Live Agency and or Broadwayworld.com (I scratch my head on how he did not know Broadwayworld.com was real).
After a few minutes, box office said to hang around a while as there are many other companies that organize their own contest and sometimes a representitive from that company shows up and hands out the tickets.
After waiting a while I decided to call and e-mail the Broadwayworld.com rep who sent me the orginal e-mail indicating that I won; I still have not gotten a response.
As time went by, I kept checking in and kept getting the same response from the staff "Sorry, there's nothing here under your name, still".
I waited until 10 minutes after the show had started and nothing; I never got to see the show. I left and drove back to SF.
Needless to say I am sadden by the loss of this, but most important, I just want an explaniation to what happen. Did I mis-understood the e-mail or was this a scam?
Best,
JO
Here's the original e-mail I got from BWW (I deleted my name for privacy reasons):

Bumping for Rob's attention.
I'm not suprised you wouldn't get a response on a Saturday night. I know I don't look at my work email.
Please keep us informed.

Hi there --- VERY sorry to hear of the troubles you had. The contest was most definitely not a scam, as aside from both being legit companies, we've done many successful ones with them as a partner in the past. That said, it sounds like clearly something went wrong here, so please drop me an email robert(at)broadwayworld.com and I will take it up with them myself first thing Monday AM to a) figure out what the heck went wrong and b) find a clever alternate solution for you. Sorry again to hear something went wrong. Rob

To dramamama: OMG Romina the rep is amazing...not only did the person respond to my e-mail, but acknowledged my voicemail as well...all on a Sunday Morning! BRAVO!!
To Rob: Thank you, Rob. I will send you a direct e-mail shortly.
First off, I want to clear up any misconceptions of saying that the agency and or BWW was a scam. Hopefully it did not come off that way...I have always been a big supporter of BWW and will continue to be. When tickets were not set aside, I just wondered how legit it was. I think anyone in my situation would just second guess that for a moment.
Rob, thank you for the support!
