Ideal movie-musical casts

I thought it would be a good idea to do something like this.

I have a couple of them:

Wicked
Galinda Upland/Glinda the Good...Kristin Chenoweth
Elphaba "Elphie" Thropp/The Wicked Witch of the West...Idina Menzel
Madame Morrible...Dame Judi Dench (maybe dubbed by Marni Nixon)
Fiyero...Ewan McGregor
Nessarose...can't think of anyone
Boq...Elijah Wood (don't know if he can sing though)
Doctor Dillamond...can't think of anyone here
The Wizard...Joel Grey

Hairspray
Tracy...Kelly Osbourne
Edna...Harvey Feirstein
Wilbur...Billy Crystal
(and that's all I can think up)

I can see eveyone that jasobres said, excpet Kelly Osbourne as Tracy.

Judi Dench can sing. She's not the greatest singer, but capable. She did a good job in a musical version of Comedy of Errors, and I saw an episode of the South Bank Show in which she sang an incredible rendition of Send in the Clowns.

Nicole Kidman as Kathy and Patrick Wilson as Jamie--That would be amazing.

Catherine Zeta Jones or Vanessa Williams as the Spider Woman in Kiss of the Spider Woman....and also cast...Hugh Jackman or Patrick Wilson as Molina. Chita Rivera could play Molina's mother. Anyone as Marta...it could be Emmy Rossum.

Nooooooooooooo to Kelly Osborne as Tracy, but definitely yes to Billy Crystal as Wilber. I think he'd be perfect!

Oh I'd love Patrick Wilson as Molina, especially if they reveal a lot of his naked body in the sex scene at the end of the show, that'd be heaven. Sorry,lol.

me as Cathy and Norbert Leo Butz as Jamie.

I think if they did Wicked: the musical as a movie (though I'd much rather see a movie based on the novel because the novel is kickass) I don't think Idina and Kristin should play those parts. They're way too old for it to be realistic. Unless they found young actresses who look just like them to play them as students. Though that would be bizarre and really hard to do. For some reason I can't get Mischa Barton out of my head for Elphaba just because she has the body type and facial structure I pictured the book's Elphaba to look like. Though I wouldn't want her in the movie musical. So I'm not very helpful.

Johnny Depp as the MC would be the hottest thing to hit the screen since Desperado.

As for a Wicked movie, i definetly think by the time they get around to it, Idina and Kristin will have gotten too old to play the parts, ditto to Ewan McGregor (though, if he was cast as Fiyero, i would kill to play his Elphaba). At the beginning, they're only supposed to be 18 or 19, fresh to university life.
The publicity for Wicked is already so great, i think they could bring two young, general unknowns into the parts of Galinda and Elphaba, and then have some older, seasoned professionals in the various supporting roles, like bringing Joel Grey back, even Judi Dench as Morrible.

OOOOH.. I would love Johnny Depp as the Emcee. That would be HOT!! Who would be his Sally Bowles? I am drawing a blank. I saw it with Susan Egan, but she doesn't really have any recognition outside of the theater community. Someone once mentioned Renee Zelwegger, but I am not sure how I feel about that

Well, isn't that what people said about the cast of the movie of Rent? It's also what people said about the cast of the O.C. They also said that about the casts of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Snoopy!!!

P.P.S. I finally figured out who could play Nessa and Dillamond in the movie of Wicked:

Nessarose...Jenna Leigh Green
Dr. Dillamond...William Youmans (can't actually see anyone else playing that part because he was so humorous with that "baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad."

Lawrence- Lithgow
Freddy- Two choices
A. If studios were looking for profit: Adam Brody
B. If stuidos were looking for artistic sucess: Norbert Leo Butz
I'd go with choice B
Christine- Same thing
A. Profit: Rese Witherspoon
B. Artistic: Sherrie Rene Scot
I'd go with choice B
Muriel- Joanna Gleason
Andre- Richard Gere

The Light in the Piazza
Margaret- Victoria Clark, no question about it
Clara- Kristen Chenoweth

The Mother- Hmmm...any ideas?
